Dos and Don'ts for the probers
- DO use the platform lever to raise platform when inserting and removing the wafer.
- DO use the chuck to bring the device to the center of the microscope's field
of view (while the probes are up).
- DO use the platform lever to lower the platform all the way when ready to
test with probes.
- DO ensure that the probe tips will not gouge wafer while lowering the
platform lever.
- DO NOT move the probe bodies!
- DO NOT force the adjust knobs past their mechanical limit...they will break!
- DO NOT try to reach all devices by adjusting the probes.
- DO ensure that the switches on the side are in the positions required by the
measurement.
- DO NOT slide the test stations back (away from the edge of the table).
- DO NOT attempt to fix things yourself.
- DO report problems to your TA.
- DO leave the probe station in the following configuration when finished.
- Probe tips raised a turn or two using micromanipulator controls.
- Platform lever UP.
- Chuck IN beneath microscope.
- Vacuum switch OFF.
- Illuminator OFF.
- Cover DOWN.
