Dos and Don'ts for the probers

DO use the platform lever to raise platform when inserting and removing the wafer.
DO use the chuck to bring the device to the center of the microscope's field of view (while the probes are up).
DO use the platform lever to lower the platform all the way when ready to test with probes.
DO ensure that the probe tips will not gouge wafer while lowering the platform lever.
DO NOT move the probe bodies!
DO NOT force the adjust knobs past their mechanical limit...they will break!
DO NOT try to reach all devices by adjusting the probes.
DO ensure that the switches on the side are in the positions required by the measurement.
DO NOT slide the test stations back (away from the edge of the table).
DO NOT attempt to fix things yourself.
DO report problems to your TA.
DO leave the probe station in the following configuration when finished.
- Probe tips raised a turn or two using micromanipulator controls.
- Platform lever UP.
- Chuck IN beneath microscope.
- Vacuum switch OFF.
- Illuminator OFF.
- Cover DOWN.
