ECE 344: Where students can make Integrated Circuits "from scratch"!

In case you don't know what Integrated Ciruits are, Brittanica Online has background information on IC fabrication, as does the ECE 340 textbook.

As you would expect, the steps for the ECE 344 IC fabrication process are much simpler than the average industrial IC fab process. Our education, safety, time, and cost concerns override the usual concern for profit.

Click this image for an overview of the ECE 344 process. An industrial process would have several times more steps, but would not be fundamentally different.

Here is the ECE 344 IC Fabrication Recipe.
