ECE 344: Where students can make Integrated Circuits "from scratch"!
In case you don't know what Integrated Ciruits are,
Brittanica Online has background information on
IC fabrication, as does the ECE 340 textbook.
As you would expect, the steps
for the ECE 344 IC fabrication process are much simpler than the average
industrial IC fab process. Our education, safety, time, and cost concerns override
the usual concern for profit.

An industrial process would have several times more steps, but would not be fundamentally different.
