SAFETY INFORMATION for Everitt Laboratory.

The CHEMICAL HYGIENE PLAN for Everitt Laboratory consists of:

All employees working with chemicals in Everitt Laboratory MUST follow the UIUC Chemical Hygiene Plan as well as the appendix to the Plan written specifically for Everitt Laboratory and turn in signed copies of the forms contained in the PLAN to their supervisors. ECE 344-specific information is in the Chemical Hygiene Plan for Everitt Lab. A paper printout of the entire Chemical Hygiene Plan for Everitt Lab is available in the file cabinet in the ECE 344 lab.

Hazardous waste MUST be minimized and disposed of according to the guidelines stated by the Division of Environmental Health and Safety

U of I's Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) server can supply the MSDS for any chemical used in the lab.

HazDat, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry's Hazardous Substance Release/Health Effects Database, can be useful.
Employees working in the lab are required to attend the first 3 sessions of MATSE 392, read the Chemical Hygiene Plan, and sign the forms stating so. (The forms can be found in the "safety forms" file in the file cabinet in the ECE 344 lab or in any copy of the Chemical Hygiene Plan.)
